New Brakes

Today I fitted the rear fog and reversing lights. The brackets supplied are a little too big to clamp on the rear nudge bars, so I had to wrap some tape round first. This doesn't seem to be working too well and the lights droop after time, so I'll have to find another way. |

Started to fit the handbrake today. I had a lot of trouble trying to work out where to feed the cable through the fiber-glass bodywork. I used a peice of old heaterhose to give the cable some protection as it passes through the body, its all held in with adhesive. The cable seems very short, but it is JUST the right length. |

Although the outer is OK, the inner seems a bit long and I can't adjust it up! I had to make an adapter where the cable fits into the handbrake (middle section in right-hand picture). |

I had trouble with the reversing light staying on, this was traced to a stuck switch. Rather than buy a new switch I managed to take it apart and free it up. |

For sometime now it has been difficult to roll the car in and out of the garage as the second-hand donar Jag brakes were seizing on. So I contacted Jaguar_Axles Supplies and they sent me through an exchange set of discs and calipers. I am very greatful to Mark who came round to help fit the rear discs and calipers, sadly I lost the photos of that event but here are some photos of us changing thefront. |

| The fronts were easier to change, especially with the help of my son Adam. |

Every job needs a forman... Actually that's a little unfair as she had just finished washing the car. |

While putting the rear discs on I noticed that the rear wheel bearings were loose, so I may have to change these later :-( |
